The whole school sang on Heart Radio on 4th December! They visited us a few days before as part of their tour of Cambridgeshire, and recorded us singing 'Sleeps til Santa' in the school hall. Everyone enjoyed joining in and there were also some special Christmas messages from Year 2 children.
Merry Christmas everybody!
Family Fun Day at Littleport School!
We opened our doors with the Children's Centre on Saturday 18th October, to invite parents and children to take part in a range of free and fun activities.
Activities included archery, circus skills, play dough making, ICT maths games and musical sessions with Mrs Melody. Many of the activities were provided by local businesses and charities such as Corker’s Crisps, Littleport Time Bank and Littleport Food Bank. Andy Rutterford from Littleport Leisure Centre provided archery and Louise Aldridge, Community Engagement Librarian, ran lego and story sessions in the school library.
Our wonderful PTFA also generously provided free soup, bread and tea and coffee, to keep everyone full and happy while they were in school. Well done to Mrs Fox and Miss Hoal who organized the day for the school.
We appeared in the Ely Standard on Thursday 30th November. You can read more here:
Here are some of our own photos of the day - thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.
Commonwealth Gold Winner comes back to Littleport School!
We were delighted to welcome back former pupil Ellen Falkner, Glasgow 2014 Gold Medal Winner for Bowls. Ellen was an inspiration and showed us her medals from Glasgow and other Commonwealth Games. Her main message was 'don't give up' and 'achieve your dreams', which is what we aim to help everyone achieve at Littleport School.
Her visit was covered in the Ely Standard on Thursday 2nd October. You can find out more here:
Over the past year, we have appeared in newspapers for a number of reasons such as: playing conkers, visiting the Houses of Parliament, our new School Banner, outdoor Robin Hood days and planting 420 saplings on our school field.
We have also featured on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire a number of times, and you can and play the files below and listen to those reports.
