Firstly, welcome to Year 1!

I hope you all had a relaxing spring break and the children are ready for the summer term, which is full of exciting activities and discoveries. As usual we are looking forward to working together in partnership with parents, so if you have some spare time this term, please come and join us – please speak with me to arrange a mutually convenient time. This term, our topic of study will be "Rescuers". As part of our topic, we will be focusing on non-fiction writing, using a range of texts to create our own information book all about castles. After half term, our focus turns to Grace Darling and seaside rescues. As part of this unit of work, we hope to organise a very special event so watch this space for more information... Be sure to check out our termly newsletters where you will find more information about the learning taking place in school.

If you have any questions or queries regarding school issues then please do not hesitate to contact me. Many thanks for your continued support.

Some recent learning in school...

Ely Museum Visit

Still image for this video
Year 1 recently visited Ely Museum to learn more about toys from the past. We also played playground games from years gone by. The children really enjoyed the experience and this is a video showing just a few highlights from our day.
