Firstly, welcome to Year 2!
I hope you all had a relaxing break and the children are ready for the new term which is full of exciting activities and discoveries. As usual we are looking forward to working together in partnership with parents, so if you have some spare time this term, please come and join us – please speak with me to arrange a mutually convenient time.
This term, our focus topic is Great and Ghastly Events. During this term, we will be exploring many famous events that have occurred over time, such as: The great fire of London, Queen's coronation and the gun powder plot, to name a few. In addition to gathering and learning facts about these events, the children will have the opportunity to really become immersed in the events through letter writing, diary entries and postcards. We hope to really set this term on fire by creating silhouettes of the city of London during 1666 and designing model 3D Tudor houses in art.
If you have any questions or queries regarding school issues then please do not hesitate to contact me. Many thanks for your continued support.

Our PE days are:
Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school on these days. Games lessons will take place outside whenever possible so please provide suitable clothing for this lesson i.e. trainers, tracksuit bottoms (or equivalent), spare pair of socks and a warm top. Earrings must also be removed.
In addition to this, Year 2 will be participating in Forest Schools in the Autumn term. It is important that on their allocated day they bring suitable, warm clothing that you would be happy for your child to get dirty in!
