Welcome to Lapwings Class
Welcome back! We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing Easter holiday and are looking forward to the last term full of hard work, adventure and exciting topics. This term our topic is based on Africa. It is a geography based topic, however we are interweaving English and Art too! We will be using a holiday brochures and Lonely Planet books to stimulate our writing so that we can become travel writers. In Art the children will develop their sculpting skills so that they can create African Masks. In Science, we will study plants and animals and look at how they adapt to their habitats in order to survive and how they reproduce. African artifacts that can be shared with the children would be greatly appreciated!
Here you will find lots of useful information about our class and our curriculum. Please feel free to browse the different links and enjoy all of the exciting moments from our year captured on camera.
As usual we are looking forward to working together in partnership with parents, so if you have some spare time this term or some expertise on one of our topics, please come and join us – please speak with me to arrange a mutually convenient time.
If you have any questions or queries regarding school issues then please do not hesitate to contact me. Many thanks for your support.

Please make sure your child brings their P.E kits into school on a Monday and they will bring it home to be washed on a Friday. If your child has earrings please remember that they must be removed. Long hair should also be tied back. Games lessons will take place outside whenever possible. Please provide suitable clothing for this lesson, i.e. trainers, tracksuit bottoms (or equivalent), spare socks and a warm top. We will be taking part in the Daily Mile and we will be running for 15 minutes 3x a week—it is important that your child has a spare pair of socks!
