Welcome to Year 5. I hope you had a relaxing Summer and are looking forward to joining Year 5! As usual, we have so many exciting things planned for this term and we will be studying so many interesting things.

To promote healthy eating and to ensure your child stays alert, we recommend that they eat a piece of fresh fruit at break time and a suitable water bottle (clear) is available to use throughout the school day. Please note that children should only be drinking water.
Please make sure your child brings their P.E kits into school on a Monday and they will bring it home to be washed on a Friday. If your child has earrings please remember that they must be removed. Long hair should also be tied back. Games lessons will take place outside whenever possible. Please provide suitable clothing for this lesson, i.e. trainers, tracksuit bottoms (or equivalent), spare socks and a warm top. We will be taking part in the Daily Mile and we will be running for 15 minutes 3x a week—it is important that your child has a spare pair of socks!
