Here you will find lots of useful information about our class and our curriculum. Please feel free to browse all of the different links and enjoy all of the exciting moments from our year captured on camera!
We're over half way through the autumn term - doesn't time fly?
So far we've enjoyed: exploring mountains and volcanoes - creating our own ring of fire; analysing the descriptive language used by Carol Ann Duffy in the Princess' Blankets; writing our own endings to The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis and investigating the scientific classification of animals.
We are now concentrating on the First World War. As historians, we have been studying the alliances between countries and the causes behind this important historical event. We will go on to look at life in the trenches, using historical sources, including war poetry. Many of the children have mentioned family connections to the war and we would be very happy for children to share any stories or memorabilia with the rest of the class.
In maths, we have moved into fractions but we will still be referring back to key calculation skills - including times tables! These underpin so much of maths and extra practice at home can only help.
Our classroom doors are always open so please don't hesitate to come and see us if you have any questions.
Tuesday - rugby
Wednesday - dance
Please ensure your child has the correct kit on the appropriate day. Earrings must not be worn for PE sessions and long hair should be tied back.
To promote healthy eating and to ensure your child stays alert, we recommend that they eat a piece of fresh fruit at break time and a suitable water bottle (clear) is available to use throughout the school day. Please note that children should only be drinking water.
