The Golden Rules provide a framework for the creation of a happy, secure and orderly environment in which children can learn and develop as caring and responsible people. Children across the school provided the five Golden Rules which we continue to follow, and they have been amended by the children to ensure a more secure understanding of them. The Golden Rules are prominently displayed around the school and are constantly referred to to promote the positive atmosphere which has been established.
We refer to our Golden Rules in assemblies. One child from each class who has really followed this Golden Rule well is selected to join the High Table on Tuesdays. These children are identified during Friday assemblies and awarded a certificate. Children are also rewarded for following the Golden Rules by having Golden Time at the end of the week. We believe that the most effective way of achieving our aims is to encourage and praise good behaviour.
These are our Golden Rules:
We are kind with our words and actions.
We listen and follow instructions.
We are honest and tell the truth.
We work hard and always try our best in everything we do.
We are safe because we think before we act.
