Summer Activities

Thank you for all of your support over this academic year; the home-school partnership has been more important than ever. We hope you enjoy the holidays and are able to take time to relax and enjoy the break. As it is a long stretch, children may benefit from some activities to keep their brains and bodies active. Taking some time on a rainy day or finding a few minutes here and there will help them get off to a great start in September!

If it’s a maths activity you’re after, look below!

Years 2-6, can practice times tables using TT Rock Stars. A brand new Battle of the Bands starts on 23rd July and runs until 31st August. Log in as your current class – new classes sorted in September.

Learn to tell the time! What time do you get up? What time do you have lunch?

How long does it take to walk to the park? How quickly can you tidy your room?

Can you measure how tall each of your family members are?

How far can you jump? Can you measure the length of your favourite book?

Bake or cook with your family. Can you measure each of the ingredients?

How much would you need if you wanted to double the recipe?

Play your favourite game with your family or friends. It could be a board game or a game of football, it’s up to you! How many points do you have altogether? Who has the most/least points? What’s the difference in score between two players?

Practice dividing and fractions by sharing out different items. It could be some nice summer berries!

Other Links

We have added links to external websites to help parents find resources to support with home learning, which were correct at the time of adding. You can find these at the bottom of the page! We will continue to add to these. However, we are not responsible for the content of external websites. We would always strongly recommend that children are supervised when accessing the internet and that you continue to discuss online safety with them at home.
