Year 4 Swifts & Kestrels

Welcome to Year 4:   Swifts and Kestrels!

We're almost at the end of the summer term and the school year.  We hope you've enjoyed it so far!

We hope you've been enjoying the summer term so far!

Here are a few of the things we've done recently!

  • School games day - Year 3/4 took part in a cricket festival in their school teams.  Everyone had great fun and enjoyed the competition.

  • Had a go at Samba drumming to celebrate the World Cup being held in Brazil.

  • Visited Wicken Fen as part of our topic on British Nature - please scroll down the page to see some photos of the trip.  We had a fantastic time pond dipping, minibeast hunting and making some wild art.

  • Used our imagining skills to design some Wallace and Gromit style inventions for our competition - Well done to our winners!

  • We're still enjoying our D.E.A.R (Drop Everything and Read) novels. Kestrels are readingThe Magician's Nephew by C.S.Lewis and Swifts are enjoying Bernie Doherty's Children of Winter!  We're determined to finish them before the end of term so you're not left wondering what happens!

Things To Look Foward To!

  • Sports Day - Monday 14th July (keep your fingers crossed for sunshine!)  We've been practising and we're looking forward to some exciting races and events.

  • A visit from Louise the Librarian to launch the summer reading challenge!  We hope you're ready to give it a go!
