Welcome to Year 5!
We hope you enjoyed the summer holidays! We are really looking forward to starting a new school year with you.
Miss Yvonne Hatchell - Kingfishers Teacher
Mr George Popplewell - Nightjars Teacher
We are supported by Mrs Duffield, Mrs Stanborough and Mrs Thurlow.
On Friday afternoons, Kingfishers will be taught by Mrs Neighbour and Nightjars will be taught by Mrs Howlett.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to speak to us on the door! If you need a longer conversation, you are welcome to book an appointment with us either in person or by emailing the school office. Please speak to the class teacher in the first instance, followed by the phase leader if you need further support.
Phase Leader: Miss Alison Hoal
When is PE?
PE will be Tuesdays and Fridays for both classes. In the first half of the Autumn term this will be swimming lessons in the Friday PE slot.
Please remember to send your child into school in their PE kit!
It is also really helpful if you can make sure your child's hair is tied up and their earrings have been removed before coming to school.
What should be worn for PE?
The national guidance has always been that no jewellery should be worn in PE. It is not safe to cover earrings/studs/sleepers with tape.
On PE days, please send your child to school wearing:
A white short-sleeved T-shirt (this must be suitable for physical activity)
Black or navy shorts or jogging bottoms (weather dependant)
A jumper or pullover (weather dependant)
Please note that our uniform expectations also include PE kits and it is essential that the clothes your child is wearing are suitable for physical activity and sports.
When is Forest School?
In Year 5, our Forest School will be after Christmas.
Please try and read and log in to Times Tables Rockstars daily.
