Keep up to date with the latest news and Headteacher's Newsletters.
It's time to get your 'spotacular' outfits on! We will be having a non uniform day this Friday (17th November) to raise money for Children In Need.
If you have a spotty outfit, please wear this, if not we look forward to seeing everyone in their own bright and beautiful clothes.
Donations of any amount will be very welcome for this extremely important charity.
Believe it or not, it is only 6 weeks and 6 days until Christmas Day (hooray we all cry!) - but before then, something just as exciting is happening.... our magical Christmas Holiday Club starts in 6 weeks and 1 day (that's the 20th December to save counting on fingers and toes).
The club is now open for bookings! We are open all day Wednesday 20th December to Friday 22nd December and then Tuesday 2nd January to Wednesday 3rd January.
Holiday Club is always fantastic fun - our elves are busy putting together the timetable of activities and we will send this to you very soon.
You can book via the School Gateway or the school office. All bookings via the office will need to be made and paid for before the end of term - online you will need to book 2 nights in advance of the session (this is to make sure we have enough food, supplies and of course.... glitter!).
If your child has not attended Holiday Club (or our other out of school clubs) before, please make sure you fill in and return a Registration Form before the end of term.
We look forward to seeing lots of you there, please feel free to speak to the office if you have any questions at all.

LCPS Daily Mile!
Dear Parents and Carers,
You will probably be aware of recent concerns around physical inactivity in childhood. As they go through Primary school, many children can become less active, resulting in a lack of energy and concentration in class.
In order to encourage children to participate in physical activity every day, we will be taking part in an initiative called The Daily Mile. The aim for this initiative is to increase fitness and wellbeing of all children and support the recommended hour that children should spend taking daily exercise.
The Daily Mile is very simple to start in a school. Without wasting time to change into kit, every child in school goes out each day in the fresh air to run, jog or walk for 15 minutes. It is not competitive: most children will average a mile in that time, with some doing more and some doing less. It is not PE, sport or cross-country but a physical activity which is aimed at improving the children's physical, social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing. It can help children to focus and concentrate in the classroom and raise their attainment.
Since 2015, The Daily Mile has been adopted by over 1,600 schools in the UK alone, proving extraordinarily popular with thousands of children, parents and teachers. The initiative is also attracting strong overseas interest, with both Belgium and the Netherlands launching nationally in 2016. Cambridgeshire Schools are being encouraged to sign up and join in too.
We would like to introduce The Daily Mile for all the children in Littleport Community Primary School and ensure its health and wellbeing benefits are available for everyone. Our children will take part in the Daily Mile at least 3 times a week, jogging or walking with the adults in their classes and the only things they will need will be their trainers and a spare pair of socks (in case of wet feet). Children will not be forced to run, however, we want to encourage children to improve their fitness over time so that they can see and understand how exercise can make a difference to their lives.
As a school we are really excited about this new initiative and we are looking forward to the benefits it will bring to your child/children. To find out more about how it all works please visit: www.thedailymile.co.uk.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Cameron

Littleport Community Primary School has been chosen to become one of 22 schools nationally who form part of the Research Schools Network. This will mean us linking up with schools across England as well as locally, to share best practice in teaching, signpost schools to research opportunities and work collaboratively with teachers and Headteachers to look at what works best for children in the classroom.
You can find out more about the network here: https://researchschool.org.uk/
We are delighted to have been chosen to be the school for East Cambs and Fenland Opportunity Area, as announced by the Secretary of State Justine Greening last week. We are looking forward to working with all schools in the area over the coming years to look at ways to improve teaching and outcomes for our children, as well as giving East Cambs and Fenland schools the chance to be part of the national drive to improving teaching and learning.
We are featured in the Ely Standard online:
School Council visits East Cambs District Council Chambers!
Our School Council visited East Cambs District Council on Monday 10th July to find out more about how local democracy works. We are the first school to visit and we learnt so much and were made to feel very welcome.
BBC Radio Cambridgeshire were there, and we featured on Tuesday's DriveTime show.
Listen here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p056j17y and on iplayer for the next 30 days.
Here is the story in the Ely Standard -
Dear Parents and Carers
In light of the Childhood Obesity Strategy published last summer, Cambridgeshire Catering Service would like to support schools and encourage pupils to make informed choices about the foods they eat every day. Eating habits are formed in childhood, and as adults, these long-held habits can be very hard to break. Therefore, to start children on the right track and to reflect Public Health England Healthy Eating Guidelines, we would like your views on healthy food options and the continued provision of sweet puddings every day.
If you would like to help shape future school meal provision, please complete the questionnaire by following the link https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/HQW5J5C . The survey will close on Friday 26th May. We would appreciate as many responses as possible.
Thank you

Well we have had a very exciting morning here at LCPS - a visit from Pudsey himself!
We have had assemblies in the build up to Children in Need to discuss the reasons why we are fundraising for such a worthy cause and the other ways people up and down the country are doing their bit. We highlighted the work that the Rickshaw Challenge team are doing and how the task they are undertaking is not only a physical challenge but a psychological one too. In order to begin to appreciate this, the children have received 'Pudsey Post' each day this week with a different activity to complete that tested their physical and mental skills. We have had word challenges, including tongue twisters, as well as the dreaded planking challenge, which really tested the muscles! The children were hugely excited to have Pudsey turn up in person to deliver the last challenge before the big night on Friday. We hope to raise lots of money on Friday when we dress up in spots for Children in Need.
