  • Children In Need

    Thu 17 Nov 2016

Well we have had a very exciting morning here at LCPS - a visit from Pudsey himself!

We have had assemblies in the build up to Children in Need to discuss the reasons why we are fundraising for such a worthy cause and the other ways people up and down the country are doing their bit. We highlighted the work that the Rickshaw Challenge team are doing and how the task they are undertaking is not only a physical challenge but a psychological one too. In order to begin to appreciate this, the children have received 'Pudsey Post' each day this week with a different activity to complete that tested their physical and mental skills. We have had word challenges, including tongue twisters, as well as the dreaded planking challenge, which really tested the muscles! The children were hugely excited to have Pudsey turn up in person to deliver the last challenge before the big night on Friday. We hope to raise lots of money on Friday when we dress up in spots for Children in Need.

  • Shakespeare Day 10th October 2016

    Mon 10 Oct 2016

We are very excited to be holding a Shakespeare Day on Monday 10th October.
2016 marks the 400th anniversary of this world-famous playwright’s death and there have been many events across the country to celebrate him during the year. Now it’s our turn to get involved! During the day, children will have the opportunity to get involved in lots of exciting activities to introduce them to the world of Shakespeare. For example, they might be taking part in drama, art, making puppets or even doing some Tudor cooking! There are some lovely games and activities on the CBBC website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/curations/shakespeare if you would like to explore Shakespeare more with your child at home.

For more information, please visit the 'Pupils / Gallery' section of our website.

  • Public Meeting at LCPS for potential students/parents of new secondary school in Littleport

    Wed 29 Jun 2016

    24 June 2016

    Dear Parent / Carer

The Active Learning Trust : A new Littleport school

As you know, two new schools are being developed in Littleport.  The Active Learning Trust is proud to be sponsoring the new secondary and special school that are currently under construction.  A public meeting for potential students and parents will be held at Littleport Primary School at 6pm on Tuesday 5 July 2016 to allow you to meet the ALT team and also look at images and plans for the school.

At the heart all of our work is the engagement with the local community, schools and especially the children and young people who we aim to provide outstanding opportunities and life chances for.

Along with the construction of the build and development of the curriculum, a first part of this exciting project is to design the school logo and branding.  We would like your child to use the attached A4 template to create a logo for the new school.  For example, the logo, use of colour and images could reflect:

    • Local historic events

    • Names and themes of the local environment

    • Particular aspirational or motivational themes.

As well as drawing the logo, the children may want to annotate their picture to explain the details and inclusion of particular details.  A selection of logos will be chosen and displayed online at www.newlittleportschools.org for the public to vote for their favourite.  The successful logo/logos will then be sent to our graphic design team who will develop the image further so that it can then be used as part of the school signage and overall branding.  The successful artist will also be awarded with a prize.

Completed submissions can be handed in at school by Friday 8 July or scanned and emailed to info@activelearningtrust.org.  A winner will be announced in September 2016.

    Yours faithfully

    Gary Peile

    CEO Active Learning Trust
