  • Maths Competition Winners!

    Fri 26 Jun 2015

On Thursday 18th June, eight year 6 children took part in a Maths Challenge at Soham Village College. There were six schools taking part in total, each split into two teams. Various challenges were completed as a team, in pairs or as individuals; many of the questions were extremely challenging! However, all the children persevered and the team came 1st! We are very proud of all the year 6s who took part, not only because of their achievement but also because of the way in which they represented  the school; they demonstrated exemplary behaviour and excellent sportsmanship.

Here they are, working their way through all of the challenging questions, and then with their winners' trophy - well done all of you! You have made us all very proud!

  • Irish Dancing on St Patrick's Day!

    Fri 20 Mar 2015

On March 17th the whole school became Irish Dancers for the day!

Year 8 students from Cottenham Village College - Ruby Cattermole, Kate Oakley and Nerys Morgan - came to Littleport to demonstrate Irish dancing as part of our St Patrick's Day celebrations.

They also stayed for the whole day and taught children from Year 1 to Year 6 the moves,  jumps, jigs and twirls to become Irish dancers. Everyone joined in and had a huge amount of fun. They also shared their trophies and medals, and answered questions from children at the end of each session. Well done Ruby, Kate and Nerys for teaching us so much, and well done everyone for joining in and having a go!

a dhéanamh go maith! (Well done everyone!)

  • Littleport at the O2 Arena!

    Fri 13 Feb 2015

We travelled to  London on Monday 26th January, to take part in the annual Young Voices concert at the O2 Arena. This was the first time we had taken part, and it was a truly memorable day. 40 children made the journey to London with Mrs Newton, Mrs Duffield, Mrs Mason and Mrs Kelley as well as Mr Cattermole. A coach of parents also travelled down in the afternoon to watch and sing along to all of the songs we have been practising for the past few months.

We were sitting really high up, but everyone could see us with our huge school banner! Everyone sang and performed brilliantly in the packed arena. There were thousands of children there from all over the UK, and the view from performers to viewers and viewers to performers was unbelievable! Thanks to everyone who made the long journey to support us, and well done everyone for their wonderful performances! Well done Mrs Newton for organizing it all and for singing so professionally in the special teachers' choir!

  • Family Fun Day at Littleport!

    Tue 04 Nov 2014

Family Fun Day at Littleport School!

We opened our doors  with the Children's Centre on Saturday 18th October, to invite parents and children to take part in a range of free and fun activities.

Activities included archery, circus skills, play dough making, ICT maths games and musical sessions with Mrs Melody. Many of the activities were provided by local businesses and charities such as Corker’s Crisps, Littleport Time Bank and Littleport Food Bank.   Andy Rutterford from Littleport Leisure Centre provided archery and Louise Aldridge, Community Engagement Librarian, ran lego and story sessions in the school library.

Our wonderful PTFA also generously provided free soup, bread and tea and coffee, to keep everyone full and happy while they were in school. Well done to Mrs Fox and Miss Hoal who organized the day for the school.

We have more photos in our 'We're in the News' section of 'Our School'.

We also appeared in the Ely Standard on Thursday 30th October. You can read more here:
